PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digital camera which reduces power consumption. SOLUTION: In this digital camera, when a shutter button 16 is depressed, a control circuit 14 issues a luminance lowering command to a light modulator circuit 21 and also start to data wiring processing to an IC card 15. When the circuit 21 receives the command, it makes the power fed to a liquid crystal display(LCD) backlight 2 from a power source 18 to be less than the power before the button 16 is depressed down. Then, when the data wiring processing to the card 15 is finished, the circuit 14 issues a luminance recovery command to the circuit 21. When the circuit 21 receives the command, it returns the power fed to the light 2 from the source 18 to the same dimensions of the power as that prior to the pressing down of the button 16. |
