PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a crystalline methacrylic resin having no limitation even on shape applicable to molding products, having excellent solvent resistance and mechanical characteristics, useful for illumination, or the like, by bringing a mixture of an isotactic and a syndiotactic methyl methacrylate-based polymers into contact with a high-pressure gas. SOLUTION: A mixture of an isotactic methyl methacrylate-based polymer and a syndiotactic methyl methacrylate-based polymer (the blending ratio is preferably 15/85-85/15 based on weight) is brought into contact with a high- pressure gas containing >=50 vol.% carbon dioxide (pressure is preferably >=1 MPa) to give a crystalline methacrylic resin. Preferably, after the mixture is brought into contact with the high-pressure gas, the mixture is expanded to produce a foam. Preferably, the foam comprises a fine foam having <=10μm average cell diameter and 109 to 1015 cells/cm3 density of number of cells.
