PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To clean a separation film safely without generating a deleterious substance such as a trihalomethane attributable to a separation film cleaning agent and enable the function of the separation film to be recovered by adding percarbonate to the cleaning agent to obtain its preparation. SOLUTION: A cleaning agent to be used for cleaning by a drug solution a separation film such as a hollow fiber film used for the manufacture of a sterile water, a drinking water or a high-purity water, the cleaning of air, the concentration or addition of gas or the like, is prepared with the addition of percarbonate. The percarbonate to be used is preferably an alkaline metallic salt or an alkaline earth metallic salt, above all, preferably a sodium percarbonate. In addition, the separation film cleaning agent preferably further contains a ferric salt. The cleaning agent may contain at least one kind selected from an oxidizing agent other than hypochlorite and hydrogen peroxide, a surfactant, a chelating agent and a pH adjustor. For a method for bringing the separation film to be cleaned into contact with the cleaning agent, it is not particularly defined as far as the film and the agent come into contact adequately with each other. However, the method is preferably by soaking in the agent or circulating it.
