PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it difficult for soil and sand to enter into a clearance between the end part inner peripheral surface of a foldable part outer tube and the outer peripheral surface of a foldable part outer tube and, when soil and sand enters into the clearance in the foldable part, remove the soil and sand easily in a foldable shield machine. SOLUTION: A foldable shield excavating machine is so formed that a sealing part to seal between the outer peripheral surface of a foldable part inner tube 22 and the inner peripheral surface of a foldable part outer tube 21 is provided at a foldable part obtained by overlapping a front hull 1 with a rear hull 3. A specified clearance 24 is formed between the end part inner peripheral surface of the foldable part outer tube 21 and the outer peripheral surface of the foldable part inner tube 22, a water filling pipe 31 for draining soil and sand invaded into the clearance 24 is disposed on the foldable part inner tube 22 side, and the tip part of the foldable part outer tube 21 is formed in such a taper 25 that an outer edge of a tube body is cut off.
