SIGNAL RECORDING OR REPRODUCING DEVICE TO OR FROM DISK AND TRAY DRIVING METHOD FOR THE DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a tray smoothly progress even when there is an obstacle while reducing the increase of power consumption of a device. SOLUTION: A drawer 3 in which a tray 4 on which a disk is to be mounted is housed movably back and forth is provided movably back and forth on a chassis 1 having a recording and reproducing part 7. On the chassis 1, a motor MM1 moving the tray 4 between an EXTRA position being the front end part of the drawer 3 and a HOME position being the rear end part of the drawer 3 is provided and the disk is mounted on the tray 4 from the outer side of the drawer 3 at the HOME position. A CPU controlling the driving force of the tray 4 by changing the power feeding level to the motor MM1 is connected to the motor MM1 and the CPU enlarges the driving force of the tray 4 by supplying voltage or current whose level is higher than that at the time when the tray 4 is retreated from the EXTRA position to the HOME position when it is to progress from the HOME position to the EXTRA position to the motor MM1.
