PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a bacteriostatic polyester staple excellent in washing resistance, production efficiency and to provide its production method. SOLUTION: A bacteriostatic polyester staple having a fineness of <=20 denier, a molecular weight of 200-700, imparted with a pyridine based bacteriostatic agent and having an inorganic/organic ratio of 0.3-1.4 and an average particle size of <=2μm. The polyester staple is obtained by imparting the pyridine based bacteriostatic agent to a polyester staple after drawing, and then heat-treating. |
