PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten the replacement time for a rib electrode material by facilitating positioning of the rib electrode material and dispensing with reference centering in every replacement of the rib electrode. SOLUTION: In this rib electrode material holder for electric discharge machining, at the forward end of a holder 2, a vertical positioning pin 21 engaged with the upper end of the rib electrode material 1 to horizontally position the rib electrode material 1 in a designated region in the vertical direction is formed, and a lateral positioning pin 22 for positioning the rib electrode material in the center position in the lateral direction of the holder 2 is formed. In a part of the rib electrode material 1, an engagement recessed part 11 engaged with the lateral positioning pin 22 of the holder 2 to position the rib electrode material 1 in the center position in the lateral direction of the holder 2 is formed, and with the rib electrode material 1 positioned by the vertical positioning pin 21 and the lateral positioning pin 22 of the holder 2, the rib electrode material 1 is secured to the holder 2 by a fixture 3.
