PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To heat and cook food into favorable finished state to the utmost, regardless of the quantity and state of food. SOLUTION: In the case of performing warming cooking, a controller detects the weight W of an object to be heated by means of a weight sensor (step A1), and selects one heating course from among a plurality of heating courses 1-4 geared to the weight (steps A2-A8). Then, the controller executes the selected heating course, by controlling a magnetron, based on the temperature detected by infrared ray temperature sensor. In this case, this heating cooker can divide the heating course, based on the information on the weight by the weight sensor, and perform fine control, based on the temperature information by the infrared ray temperature sensor, so this can heat and cook food into favorable finished state to the utmost, regardless of the quantity and state of the food.
