摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device permitting low power consumption by using a driving circuit and pixels having a new circuit configuration. SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device for displaying a video using an n-bit (n: a natural number) digital video signal can be provided with a function of storing the video signals for m-pieces of frames (the diagram shows an example assuming n=3 and m=2, respectively, and storage circuits A1-A3, B1-B3 store the digital video signals for 3 bits×2 frames) by providing each pixel with (n×m) pieces (m: a natural number) of built-in storage circuits. Therefore, to display a still picture, the display is performed in each frame by repeatedly reading the digital video signals stored once in the storage circuits and thereby halting the drive of the source signal driving circuit for the while, and thus the liquid crystal display device is reduced in power consumption.
