PURPOSE: A stereoscopic image display device is provided to cut down the price of a stereoscopic image display device despite a wide screen, to prevent a user from the tiredness even in the long-time watching, and to make the user watch the display device easily. CONSTITUTION: A video player(1) comprises an analog/digital converter(13), a memory(18) for moving a digital two-dimensional image corresponding to the time difference of the left and right eyes and storing the original image as the image for the left eye and the image formed after movement as the stereoscopic image for the right eye, a reading unit(20) for reading the images at a high speed, and a digital/analog converter(21) for converting the digital signals to analog signals and generating a high-speed synchronizing signal. A TV receiver includes high-speed synchronizing signal generators, switches for selectively switching the normal-speed and high speed synchronizing signals, and a switching signal generator for generating a switching signal when a 3D(3-dimensional) signal(Q) is received. The image displayed at a high speed is recognized by liquid crystal shutter glasses.
