PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic disk device having a magnetic shield function to effectively avoid an influence of an external magnetic field without preventing reduction in weight and thickness of a disk drive main body. SOLUTION: A disk drive is disclosed, which has a structure provided with a tape-form or foil-form magnetic shield member 7 for shielding especially the neighborhood of a magnetic head from the external magnetic field. The magnetic shield member 7 is wrapped around a case 1 so as to cover each area part of the upper, bottom, and side faces opposite to the travel range of the magnetic head on the magnetic disk.
