PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent damage due to losses and falls of specimens when a lid is opened by enabling the visual recognition of the spots where the specimens are located in a cassette in a process for preparing the specimens for testing pathological tissues and previously drawing workman's attention. SOLUTION: The cassette A for testing the pathological tissue is provided with a colored cassette body 1 and the translucent lid 2. The cassette body 1 is provided with a bottom plate 10 with liquid passage holes 101, side plates 11-14, and a specimen housing part 19. The cassette body 1 comprises a display plate 15 on the side of its one end, and an insertion hole 16 at the upper part of the display plate 15. A substrate 20 of the lid 2 comprises liquid passage holes 200. The side of one end of the substrate 20 is provided with an engaging tongue piece 24, and the side of the other end is provided with a knob piece 26 with engaging claws 260 on both sides. With fitting side plates fitted and attached in the upper parts of the side plates, the lid 2 is protruded from the upper surfaces of the side plates by approximately half the upper side of the fitting side plates in height, and hole openings one the side of the side surfaces of the fitting side plates among the liquid passage holes 200 are exposed.
