PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a music/video reproducing device in which background video that is made suitable to music data is displayed. SOLUTION: Background genre data are read from music data being registered in a music reservation area (S26). A check position is set to the least significant rank among the data being set in order to check key information stored in a key information storage buffer (S27). When the key information stored in the position coincides with the key information in the background genre data (S28: Yes), the background genre corresponding to the matched key information is obtained (S31), background video data are obtained from the background video control data corresponding to the determined background genre (S33), the selected background video data are transmitted to a background video signal generating circuit and a reproducing is started (S34).
