PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an HTTP server realizing transmitting and receiving data between communication terminals utilizing the advantages of facsimile communication and an e-mail. SOLUTION: A center server 1 receives destination information and application communication information at a communication part 11 with data which have to be transferred from a communication terminal on a transmission side and stores them in a document database 14. In this case, a terminal database 13 is retrieved on the basis of the destination information to obtain the receiving ability of the communication terminal of a transfer destination to discriminate whether data to be transferred is within the range of the receiving ability. When the data is out of the range of the receiving ability, receiving of the data is made to be error or the data are automatically converted to be within the range of the receiving ability. When access for data reception is made from the communication terminal of the transfer destination, data addressed to the communication terminal is transferred and data transfer between the communication terminals is completed. As application communication, various kinds of functions such as time designation, effective limit management, and cipher communication are provided. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
