<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately adjust the phase difference of an optical anisotropic layer formed of a liquid crystal compound. <P>SOLUTION: The optical anisotropic layer is formed of the liquid crystal compound on a transparent base having a length direction, the retardation value of the optical anisotropic layer at a measurement wavelength of a 550 nm is adjusted to 180 to 240 nm, and the angle between a phase delay axis in a plane of the optical anisotropic layer and the length direction of the transparent base is set to 75 or 15°. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
