<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image decoding apparatus and an image decoding method for performing processing of restoring an image more smoothly and accurately by using simple processing based on a small encoded transmission quantity, preventing the occurrence of an unwanted information quantity, and obtaining a reproduced image by combining a plurality of objects in a simple configuration. <P>SOLUTION: The image decoding apparatus is provided with a display speed information decoding means for decoding display speed information which consists of a plurality of VOPs (Video Object Plane), included, in an encoded state, in a header information portion being in a higher-order layer than a VOP layer, and indicates the number of VOPs to be displayed per unit time. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO</p> |
