摘要 <p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for executing high-speed and low-power inverse discrete cosine transform computation by using the relative occurrence of zero DCT coefficients. <P>SOLUTION: Two one-dimensional inverse discrete cosine transforms (1-D IDCT) are executed to realize high-speed and low-power two-dimensional inverse discrete cosine transform computation important for MPEG decompression in battery-driven mobile communication. The first 1-D IDCT is executed in rows of a DCT-transformed coefficient data matrix, and the next is executed at variable speed in columns of the 1-D IDCT-transformed data matrix by using the occurrence of zero data. The 1-D IDCTs are computed by a series of maximum arithmetic computation steps corresponding to a high-speed 1-D IDCT algorithm realized in an assigned time. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI</p>
