PURPOSE: A transflective LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) is provided to obtain high contrast form both of a transmission part and a reflecting part. CONSTITUTION: A transflective LCD includes the first substrate(400) on which a plurality of pixels including a transmission part(D) and a reflecting part(B) are defined, a lower polarizer film(410) formed under the first substrate, and a reflection electrode(402) formed on the first substrate corresponding to the reflecting part. The LCD further includes a transparent electrode(406) formed on the first substrate corresponding to the transmission part, and a liquid crystal layer(412) formed on the first substrate including the reflection electrode and transparent electrode. The LCD also has the second substrate(300) placed on the liquid crystal layer, a phase retardation film(302) formed on a reflecting part of the second substrate opposite to the first substrate, a color filter(304) formed between the liquid crystal layer and second substrate, and an upper polarizer film(408) formed on the second substrate.
