IMAGE-BASE RENDERING AND EDITING METHOD AND APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and apparatus for removing duplicated data of a simple texture image, a method and apparatus for rendering using an extended depth image, and a method and apparatus for performing image-base editing of a three-dimensional (3D) model. SOLUTION: The method for removing duplicated data involves (a) a step for calculating each of normal vectors of pixels projected into a 3D space by using depth images included in a plurality of simple texture images rendering different aspects of a 3D model; (b) a step for calculating the reliability of the pixels included in the respective simple texture images by using the normal vector; and (c) a step for comparing the reliability of the pixels included in the respective simple texture images among pixels which indicate the same region as the 3D model and removing the data of the pixels of low reliability from the simple texture images of low reliability.
