FIELD: industrial organic synthesis. ^ SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production of unsaturated perfluorohydrocarbons, in particular hexafluorobuta-1,3-diene, which is prepared by dehalogenation of polyhalobutanes of formula CF2X1-CFX2-CFX2-CF2X1, wherein X1 and X2 are I, Br, or Cl, using zinc dispersed in polar organic solvent.
