<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To employ a permanent magnet in an electromagnetic brake and a clutch incorporating permanent magnet, effectively utilize the potential energy, increase retention, and thereby to reduce the size and weight and save electric power of a whole device to meet the needs of the times. <P>SOLUTION: A permanent magnet such as an alnico magnet is fit in a part of a stator for the electromagnetic brake forming a magnetic circuit in which inner and outer diameters are concentric circles around an exiting coil as the center and only one side is closed, which exiting coil is wound around a bobbin of the electromagnetic brake and clutch. Conventionally, the permanent magnet could not be utilized in the magnetic circuit, because demagnetization is difficult and a braking force retained once could not be released. Therefore, expensive material such as pure iron was insufficient to reduce residual magnetism. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
