<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately measure a visual field without depending solely on the consciousness of a subject. <P>SOLUTION: The subject perimeter has an index presenting means for varying the position of a stimulation index presented within a visual field of an examined eye for measuring the visual field of the examined eye by the response of viewing by the subject. The perimeter also has a brain activity detecting means, with an irradiation part for irradiating a place near the optical field of the cerebral cortex in the back of the head of the subject with near infrared rays and a detection part for detecting the light penetrating/scattering in the optical field of the cerebral cortex, for detecting the presence of the brain activity of the optical field based on the output of the detection part, and a determining means for determining whether or not the response of the subject to the presentation of the stimulation index is the result in the viewing of the stimulation index based on the result in the detection. If it is detected that the response of the subject is not the result in the subject's viewing of the stimulation index, the result in the response to the stimulation index is not adopted, and an index is presented again on the same condition for presentation. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
