<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve a homogeneous light intensity distribution of a light emitting element inexpensively. <P>SOLUTION: In an optical coupler in which a light-emitting element and a plurality of light-receiving elements aligned in predetermined directions are arranged facing each other via a path for a material to be detected to pass through, the light-emitting element has a rectangular shape, a pair of electrodes, and a P-N junction plane, facing to the plurality of light-receiving elements, between the pair of electrodes, the plurality of light-receiving elements are arranged in directions vertical to the parallel axis on the optic axis that is parallel to the P-N junction interface of the light-emitting element, and the longitudinal directions of respective light-receiving elements are caused to be parallel to the parallel direction and arranged so as to be symmetric each other centering around the parallel direction. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
