PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a treatment method of arsenic containing soil that is capable of reducing the elution of arsenic from soil, even if the soil is contaminated with a large content of trivalent arsenic. SOLUTION: The treatment method of arsenic containing soil comprises adding an oxidizing agent and cement to the soil which contains arsenic. Upon the addition of the oxidizing agent and the cement, it is preferred that the oxidizing agent is added to the soil and then the cement is added thereto from the view point of the reduction of the elution of arsenic from the soil. It is preferred that the proportion of the gypsum hemihydrate to the content of the gypsum dihydrate and the gypsum hemihydrate is 40 mass% or more calculated in terms of SO<SB>3</SB>and the silicic acid modulus(S.M) is 1.3-2.7.
