<p>Coarse screening grid unit, with moving rake, is intended to separate the large solid detritus from waste water and sewage. It comprises a series of parallel rods with a base portion, inclined towards the rear, or a portion inclined to the front. At the upper end a rear extension is inclined downwards at an angle of 30 degrees with the vertical. A receptacle is arranged below this rear portion. An endless belt carrying a series of teeth is arranged upstream of the liq. flow. When debris carried by the liq. current is caught between the rods of the grid it is removed by the ascending teeth and taken to the descending portion from which it falls into the receptacle for evacuation. The incurved form of the base of the grid, either to the front or to the rear, allows of perfect raking of the lower portion. As the moving rake is upstream of the grid there is no risk of blockage with detached impurities.</p> |
