<p>A device for the detection of large faults and irregularities in moving belts, in partic. for paper webs in a mfg. process, is designed for improved detection of lumps, folds, and overlaps. The paper (W) passes between a cylinder (23) with a fixed axis and a sensor element (18) consisting of another rotating cylinder or other device such as a contact shoe. The sensor element is in contact with or a small distance from the belt (W), and is caused to move by a large irregularity. The motion is transferred via the sensor element support (13) to a multiplier device consisting of two springs (16, 17) which amplifies the motion. The signal element (19, 20) forms an aperture which then opens to transmit light.</p> |
