摘要 Method of conserving green plants by acidification with lactic acid comprises by adding to the plant material before ensilage an enzyme complex to break down higher carbohydrates. The enzyme complex contains, in addition to enzymes already described a cellulase or cellulotyic complex which cleaves beta-(1 right arrow3) and beta-(1 right arrow 4) bonds of polysaccharides not attacked by known enzyme compsn. The specific organism producing the enzymes is Enterobacter agglomerans. The new enzyme gives rise to sugars whic are readily transformed into lactic acid, and improves the silage used as an animal foodstuff.
