PURPOSE:To obtain a cathode-ray tube which provides a sufficiently high luminance for picture projection by constituting a face plate part from a porous transparent columnar honeycomb reflection plate the internal walls of which are provided with reflection films, and sealing the inner wall of the tube airtightly by means of a fusing light-emitting glass layer. CONSTITUTION:A fusing light-emitting glass layer 11 maintains the airtightness of micro-fine holes 13 of a porous transparent columnar honeycomb reflection plate 10, and secures the vacuum of the internal space of a bulb. In this condition, when electron beams discharged from an electron mirror 7 are deflected by a deflection magnetic field developing from a deflecting coil 8, a phosphor existing in the glass layer 11 emits light by being excited with the deflected electron beams. After that, the emitted light is reflected by a metal back film 12, and all of the reflected light travels toward the honeycomb reflection plate 10. The mean transmittance of the entire honeycomb reflection plate 10 becomes above 92-93%. |
