PURPOSE:To shorten a heat-up time with low consumption of electric power, by forming a closed magnetic circuit by inserting an iron core into the inner hole of a fixing roller having a conductive outer peripheral surface and combining both ends with a magnetic member, and providing a prescribed winding wire to the iron core. CONSTITUTION:A cyrindrcal roller 1 is constituted of an offset preventing layer 2, a good-conductive thin-walled metallic tube 3 such as copper, etc. and a roller base layer 5, etc., and a prismatic iron core 9 is inserted into the inner hole and the both ends are combined with a magnetic member 10 to form a closed magnetic circuit 11 and a winding wire 12 is provided to the core 9. An alternating magnetic flux generating by supply of AC power source to the winding wire 12 passes the circuit 11. At this time, the metallic tube 3 acts as a single-wound secondary winding and the tube generates heat with its inducing action. As exciting current of the wire 12 is suppressed very low by formation of the circuit 11, and the metallic tube is possible to be made thin wall and small heat capacity, a heat-up time is shorten remarkably. |
