PURPOSE:To obtain a liquid crystal display element for color display, which is capable of clearly displaying a fine image without any color shift due to parallax. CONSTITUTION:A stripe pattern is formed by regularly placing a red film stripe 21, a green film stripe 22 and a blue film stripe 23, having fine width size. On the upper layer of a colored polarized film 2, a transparent thin film 3 is made to adhere and is formed, and on the upper layer of this transparent thin film 3, the first transparent electrodes Y1, Y2, Y3-Ym for charging a liquid crystal are formed so as to make a parallel stripe pattern crossing at right angles to a parallel stripe pattern of the colored polarized film 2. These transparent electrodes Y1, Y2, Y3-Ym form the respective pairs with the second stripelike transparent electrodes X1, X2, X3-Xn for changing a liquid crystal, which have been placed in the direction crossing at right angles to said transparent electrodes, that is to say, in the direction being in parallel with the parallel stripe pattern of the colored polarized film 2. Also, the second transparent electrodes are constituted of 2 electrode units Xn and X12, X21 and X22, X31 and X32-Xn1 and Xn2. An electrodes X11, etc. have a square-shaped developed color display area A1 having longitudinal and lateral dimensions of width of about 1/2 of the transparent electrode Y1, etc., and a developed color display area A2 of the complementary electrode unit X12, etc. stands in a row in the stripe direction of the transparent electrode X1, etc., so that the areas A1, A2 are superposed on each stripe of the transparent electrodes Y1, Y2, Y3-Ym by each 1 group. |
