PURPOSE:To enable the effective controlled cooling after controlled rolling by making nozzles for hairpin laminae disposed in proximity to a hot steel plate and covers which are disposed in connection to the nozzles and enclose the hot steel plate adjustable for upward and downward movement with respect to the hot steel plate. CONSTITUTION:The cooling capacity approximately the same as the capacity of conventional hairpin laminae is obtainable in the case of discharging cooling water under low pressure from a pair of upper and lower nozzles 3, 3' for hairpin laminae to a hot steel plate 1 after hot rolling. The upper and lower cooling water chambers 6, 6' formed between the steel plate 1 and upper, lower covers 5, 5' are filled with the cooling water and the cooling is effected by the water discharged from the nozzles 3, 3' as well as by the pressure water of high velocity flowing toward discharge ports 7, 7' in the case of discharging the cooling water of high pressure from the nozzles 3, 3'. It is possible to change the height (h) of the discharge ports and the distance H between the plate 1 and the discharge ports of the nozzles by adjusting the nozzles 3, 3' and the covers 5, 5' upward and downward in addition to the discharge pressure in the stage of controlling the cooling capacity. |
