PURPOSE:To improve recording efficiency and reproducing efficiency of a magnetic head by constituting a magnetic circuit with a magnetic body having high saturation magnetic flux density and ferrite having high permeability and forming an annular magnetic circuit from the magnetic body having high saturation magnetic flux density. CONSTITUTION:A track part 30 and an operation gap part 30' comprise a metallic magnetic body having high saturation magnetic flux density and are constituted with a crystalline alloy of Fe-Si, Fe-Al-Si, or Ni-Fe, or with an amorphous alloy. On the other hand, high permeability ferrite blocks 31, 31' are constituted with a high permeability bulk material such as Mn-Zn ferrite, Ni-Zn ferrite, etc. which is connected magnetically with said metallic body. Further, the metallic magnetic body is wound around the ferrite block from the operation gap part through the inside wall of a window 34 of a coil wiring forming a magnetic circuit. By this constitution, the recording and reproducing efficiency of a magnetic head is improved.
