An electrohydraulic operating device for a continuously adjustable control valve has a regulator which emits an error signal (F3) as a function of the regulation deviation. Two comparators, which are each allocated to one adjustment direction, emit an output signal to the drive of a control valve arrangement having solenoid valves, if the limiting value of the said comparators is exceeded by the error signal. The error signal (F3) is formed by means of an AC voltage having at least one inclined slope, whose mean value (M) is dependent on the regulation deviation and whose half-cycle duration is greater than the reaction time of the solenoid valves. <IMAGE>
