Bathing tub apparatus primarily for invalid persons. The apparatus includes a tub (22) with a sealable door (32) through which a person may walk or be moved on a transfer unit. The apparatus further includes a prefillable reservoir (26) positioned above the tub. Liquid may be rapidly released to fall from the reservoir into the tub to quickly fill the tub and prevent the person therein from becoming chilled or uncomfortable. The reservoir may then be refilled with preheated liquid while the person is bathing. The reservoir (26) is held by a support unit (24) which serves as a storage cabinet within and a shelf without and which may be moved longitudinally with respect to the tub (22) to provide for cleaning and repair behind the tub. The tub (22) includes a liquid circulation system for agitating the liquid to enhance therapeutic and cleansing effects. A hand held shower (224) may also be used by the person in the tub. |
