The invention relates to a tomato-picking machine, comprising a gathering drum operating like a comb and comprising elastic fingers, a transfer device, a fan and a collecting belt for the separated tomatoes. At the rear of the gathering drum 1 and in front of the transfer device 4 is provided a driven gathering shaft 6, with multiple edges, adapting to the profile of the ground and which is mounted in wedge- shaped shoes 3, opening furrows and fixed on both sides on the chassis 2 of the gathering unit, while there is provided, at the rear of the transfer device 4, a device for separating stems and tomatoes in two stages, at least the bottom part of this device being arranged like a mobile sifting belt 7. <IMAGE>
