A display stand by means of which advertising panels, illustrations of products, exhibits or the like can be presented, connecting elements being provided which receive display panels arranged side by side, whose edges can be inserted into grooves in the connecting elements, and the connecting elements permitting connection at an angle, connection in sequence or a pivotable connection of the adjacent display panels, is to be so designed that a single connecting element is sufficient for all possible manners of erecting the display panels which are to be erected, this element, in different combinations, permitting different possible ways of erecting display panels. To this end, provision is made, according to the invention, for the connecting elements each to consist of at least two individual elements which are each designed as a clamping rail on one of their long sides and as a hinge sleeve, open at both end faces and offset relative to the clamping rail at one side, on their other long side, the two individual elements being connected by a supporting rod engaging through the hinge sleeves, on which a plurality of individual elements can be attached.
