PURPOSE:To reduce extremely anisotropy in the yield strength of a hot rolled and annealed Ti alloy plate contg. prescribed percentages of Al, V and Ti by cold rolling and annealing the Ti alloy plate under prescribed conditions. CONSTITUTION:An alloy consisting of 2.5-3.5wt% Al, 2-3wt% V and the balance Ti is hot rolled and annealed. The resulting hot rolled and annealed plate is cold rolled at >=67% reduction rate in the hot rolling direction and annealed at 650-900 deg.C. By such a method, the difference between the yield strength in the rolling direction and that in a direction perpendicular to the rolling direction is reduced.
