The invention relates to a method and a system for biological reconditioning of contaminated soil. In the method the contaminated soil is placed in a conditionable space enclosing the contamination, into which sunlight can penetrate; liquid is extracted in a cycle from the soil and said soil is moistened with soil liquid; and if necessary, said soil is periodically aerated. The system (1) for biological reconditioning of contaminated soil (3), comprises preferably sunlight admitting foil (10) and is at least partially arranged in a trench (7) present in the ground.
