PURPOSE:To facilitate conversion between a waveguide and an MIC by projecting a projection of an MIC substrate into a waveguide and grounding its tip to a plane in parallel with the H plane of the waveguide so as to apply electromagnetic coupling. CONSTITUTION:A short-circuit part 7 at the end of the waveguide 6 is provided with a through hole 25, the projection 21 of a microwave integrated circuit (MIC) substrate 1 is projected into the waveguide 6 through the through hole 25, its tip is curved and in contact with a waveguide wall 26 in parallel with the H plane of the waveguide and the tip of the prolonged part 22 and a conductor pad 23 are connected to the waveguide wall 26 by a means such as soldering. The size of the through hole 25 is decided to shut off sufficiently the waveguide mode of the waveguide 6. A magnetic field of the waveguide 6 is maximum at the short-circuit part 7 and the prolonged part 22 of a strip line 4 is provided to interlink the magnetic flux, then a high frequency power on the strip line 4 is converted into the waveguide mode by the magnetic field coupling. |
