PURPOSE:To obtain a Cu surface coloring agent causing no discoloration by air oxidation by adding an emulsifier to chemicals for coloring Cu by a chemical reaction with the Cu, a film forming agent for forming a protective surface film and a brightener so as to prepare a paste. CONSTITUTION:A film forming agent for forming a protective surface film and a brightener are dissolved by 20-30% in 20-25% naphtha as a solvent, 3-5% emulsifier is added, and they are heated to 80-85 deg.C. After 40-45% hot water is added, an emulsion is prepd. by mixing them by stirring. About 5% K2S is added to the emulsion in accordance with color to be developed, 1-3% stearic acid is further added so as to provide viscosity and to improve uniformity in the quality of the resulting coloring agent, and 1-3% triethanolamine is added so as to keep the wettability. They are then mixed to prepare the paste. The surface of a Cu article to be colored is polished or cleaned by pickling or other method and the resulting coloring agent is applied to the surface of a Cu article to color the surface. |
