Closure device

A closure device for an outlet opening of a discharge device on a silo is specified, which silo is intended for discharge material containing liquid. The closure device is formed by a flap which is mounted eccentrically with respect to the central axis of the silo and above the outlet opening of the discharge device in a manner such that it can be pivoted around a positionally fixed, horizontal swivelling spindle. The flap is brought by means of an adjusting device into its open and closed position, the column of discharge material above the flap acting on the said flap in the opening direction for easy opening of the flap thanks to the eccentric arrangement of the flap swivelling spindle. The arrangement is designed in such a manner that the flap takes up little space in its movement from its closed position into its open position or vice versa and does not collide with conveying devices positioned downstream. Also, the bearings and hinged connections lie at those points which do not tend to be soiled by the discharge material in order to ensure a reliable operation of the flap serving as closure device.
