The invention relates to an adjustable apparatus for rotating workpieces having different shapes at a working station which is arranged along a conveying device (12). The mountings (18) for the workpiece (20), which are attached to the conveying device, are constructed in such a manner that the workpiece is positioned in a desired orientation with respect to the working station. A head piece (22) and a cup-shaped bottom piece (24) engage on opposite ends of the workpiece (20) and make possible rotation of the workpiece about its longitudinal axis. The head piece (22) and the bottom piece (24) are held by means of toothed racks (46, 48) which are displaceable in the vertical direction and which come into engagement with rotatable toothed wheels (54, 56) so that both pieces are simultaneously displaceable in the vertical direction and can grasp workpieces at different heights. <IMAGE>
