Duodenal probe having a multi-lumen catheter tube in which (a) a principal lumen inside the catheter tube extends up to the front end of the probe and one or more lateral openings are present in the wall of the catheter tube in the vicinity of the front end, the openings resulting in a continuous connection of the principal lumen with the environment of the catheter tube, (b) a second lumen inside the catheter tube extends up to the front end of the probe, whose lateral openings in the wall of the catheter tube are arranged so as to be offset relative to the openings in the principal lumen and result in a continuous connection of the second lumen with the environment of the catheter tube, (c) a cylindrical, inflatable balloon is present at a distance from the front end of the catheter tube on its outside which is connected to a third lumen provided in the catheter tube, an annular zone of an electrically conducting material being arranged as electrode on the outer surface of the balloon, (d) a second annular electrode is present on the outside of the catheter tube at a distance from the balloon on its side facing away from the probe tip and both electrodes are connected to electrical connecting lines which extend up to the rear end of the probe.
