The pump supplying water through a pipe (18) to the outlet (16) is started and stopped by a switch (10) having a pair (22) of contacts (21, 23) which overlap in a space (36) within a protective tube (38). Wires (26) extend into the sleeving around the pipe (18) from both contacts (21,23) which are brought together by movement of a magnet on the outside of the unit. An outflow regulator (28) is engaged by a nut (32). USE/ADVANTAGE - On washbasin or shower head, switch is easily operable by hand with guaranteed safety using waterproof and corrosion-resistant dry reed contacts.
