1. A method of servicing a wellbore in a subterranean formation comprising:
introducing a first component of a lost circulation combating composition within a drilling fluid, wherein the first component comprises a gellable composition in an amount from about 0.2 weight percent (wt. %) to about 30 wt. % of the lost circulation combating composition and the drilling fluid is circulated through the wellbore during drilling operations; introducing a second component of the lost circulation combating composition into the wellbore via a flowpath separate from the flowpath by which the drilling fluid is circulated; and forming the lost circulation combating composition within a lost circulation zone; wherein the second component comprises an initiator; and wherein the gellable composition comprises polymerizable monomers that include:
a metal acrylate; anda cross-linking multifunctional monomer present in an amount from about 0.01 wt. % to about 5 wt. % by weight of the polymerizable monomers, the cross-linking multifunctional monomer being selected from the group consisting of ethylene bisacrylamide, methylene bisacrylamide, trimethylol propane triacrylate, trimethylol propylene diacrylate, ethyleneglycol triacrylate, pentaerythrytol triacrylate, pentaerythrytol diacrylate, triallylcyanurate, and combinations thereof; and wherein the lost circulation combating composition further comprises a polymerization rate moderator selected from the group consisting of morpholine, tetramethylethylenediamine, polyethylenimine, triethanolamine, and ammonium carbonate, the polymerization rate moderator being present in an amount from about 3 wt. % to about 25 wt. % by weight of the drilling fluid. |
