A cable enclosure that comprises: (a) a housing (20) having an inlet (21) for a cable (10); and (b) a strain-relief device (22) that can be connected to the cable (10) and to the housing (20) in strain-relieving fashion; in which the strain-relief device (22) can be thus connected to the housing (20) after it has been secured to the cable (10) and after the housing (20) has been sealed around the cable (10).
