The screw rotor compressor has two screw rotors in engagement with one another and is provided with an axial balancing piston component on at least on of the rotors. For matching the balancing forces to varying inlet pressure (pa) and outlet pressure (pd) a slide valve (7) is arranged in the feed conduit for pressure medium. This valve regulates the pressure of the pressure medium, e.g. oil. The valve incorporates a variable throttling (16), which receives oil at the compressor outlet pressure and emits oil at the regulating pressure (pr). Through the pressure surfaces (17, 18) exposed o the compressor inlet nd regulating pressures and activating the valve slide (14) displacement the throttle area is varied dependent upon the varying work conditions, which results in a varying regulating pressure. |
