The tool has a housing (2) for a drive motor. At least one handgrip (1) is fastened to the housing so that it can pivot about an axis (M), and can be locked in a definite angular position using locking equipment which engages automatically. The handgrip is mounted on a spigot bearing (9,10). The curved surface of the bearing spigot (9) has recesses (15), in which a locking slide (20) engages. The slide is guided through a radial opening (19) in the bearing sleeve (10). The curved surface of the spigot may also have at least one annular groove (11,13) in which a radial collar (12,14) on the sleeve engages.
