METHOD OF DETERMINING CONCENTRATION OF PHENOL AND ITS FLUORESCENT DERIVATIVES IN AQUEOUS MEDIA

FIELD: analytical chemistry. SUBSTANCE: invention refers to quantitative determination of concentration of phenol and its fluorescent derivatives and can be used to test content of phenols in aqueous media both in technological processes and in environmental control. During treatment of sample with organic solvent or mixture of organic solvents sample is extracted then re-extracted in distilled water under proper control of pH of aqueous medium. After this fluorescence intensity is measured and concentration of phenol is found by graduation chart. EFFECT: increased sensitivity of method, diminished threshold of detection of phenol and its fluorescent derivatives.
