The union works with a drilling in the cylinder wall and a centring component. An elastic joint ring fits between a sealing face on the union and the cylinder surface. The insert (10) fitting in a bore (9) in the union (8) has a sealing face fitting against the cylinder surface (3). With the wall of the bore and the centring component (12) the face forms a seal groove. An alignment aid (24) is provided for the correct fitting of the insert in the bore. The centring component can be tubular and contained in the union, being preferably in one piece with the insert.
